Heidi Jane M. Smith is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, and a member of the National System of Researchers since 2016. She holds a PhD in Public Affairs from Florida International University (FIU), an MPP from American University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Specializing in local public finance, municipal bonds, and social equity, she has taught at George Mason University, ITAM, and FIU, and served as a consultant for international organizations and the U.S. government.
